This abstracted forest scene evolved slowly. It is done on top of a watermedia piece that just wasn’t working as well as I wanted. I had the bright idea to apply decorative tape pieces as if they were tree trunks and outline a moon silhouette. From there I just kept adding and subtracting until I got the effect of light and stuff happening beyond the trees. I also applied florist tape that has been gathering dust in my studio waiting for an epiphany.
This will become part of the art collection at St. Mary’s Hospital New Patient Tower as of July 2015.
