layered landscape

I did this piece as an entry into the Colorado National Monument Association art show in November 2013.  The bottom layer is rows of small paint chip samples.  I wanted to build the rocks on that vertical structure.  Very little of the original collage is visible (except for the rectangles peeking through in the sky and some bits of color in the rocks.

This collage is 18″x24″ on a cradled board.

It is currently being exhibited at City Hall in Grand Junction through February 2014.  It won BEST OF SHOW.

It sold in 2014 at the Art Center Annual Auction for $650.00
