This is a rework of an old piece. In the process of stripping off the offending art of a former effort, I realized I was making the most wonderful textures. I left a lot of the tear off and worked tree trunks on top. I then added foliage, again, leaving a lot of the torn off look and underlayers from the original painting. I inadvertently discovered a new (albeit time-consuming) process which I love doing.
I did this piece to hang in a show called “Oceans of Deserts, Seas of Forests” to which I was invited at the Art Center in March 2013.
This piece is done on a 60″x24″ wood board cradled with a 3″ edge.
