Bayou is a collage that I had done a while back to use a wrapped canvas that I had laying around. My intent was to do a forest collage with a tropical feeling. This is its third incarnation. I added lots of oil paint brushwork, more and more as I got confident with the technique and became less reluctant to cover up large swatches of collage in order create unity and focus in the painting.
It is now hanging in our hallway and I am reluctant to give it up. I love the sense of depth it has.
